- EMERYVILLE, Calif.— August 31, 1990—Farallon Computing, Inc. today shipped
- MediaTracks™ Multimedia Pack CD-ROM. The CD-ROM Pack includes all the software
- from the MediaTracks package and the MacRecorder® Sound System package, in
- addition to extensive MediaTracks tutorials designed to walk the user through
- the steps of using each program.

- The Package:
- The MediaTracks CD-ROM offers a collection of hardware and software
- applications in addition to product examples. The package contains:
- • MediaTracks, Farallon’s easy-to-use training software application.
- MediaTracks is made up of ScreenRecorder™ and the MediaTracks editor.
- ScreenRecorder is a desk accessory to record screen activity to disk as a
- document, called a “tape”. The MediaTracks editor enables users to edit those
- tapes with sound, text, graphics, and interactive buttons.
- • MacRecorder Sound System. The MacRecorder Sound System contains the
- MacRecorder Sound digitizer for Macintosh sound input, SoundEdit™ software to
- record, edit, and play back voice, music, and sound. The package also contains
- HyperSound™ to record directly into HyperCard, and the HyperSound Toolkit,
- which enables users to create HyperCard stacks that record and play sampled and
- compressed sound.
- • MediaTracks-based demonstrations, tutorials, and sample tapes.

- The CD-ROM version of MediaTracks is put together with three customer groups in
- mind:
- • Dealers and resellers have been provided with a set of self-running
- MediaTracks tapes designed for sales demonstration purposes.
- • Novice users are able to access a set of tutorials to step him or her throug
- the basics of the program.
- • More experienced MediaTracks users can study the tutorial and demonstration
- materials to learn new techniques for creating their own training tapes and
- demonstration materials.

- • CD-ROM can hold up to 600 times more information than a floppy diskette.
- • The definition of the product can be fuller and richer. It can include more

- MediaTracks™ Multimedia Pack CD-ROM version (MM111) includes the full
- MediaTracks set of components with a complete MacRecorder® Sound System.
- Included in the MacRecorder Sound System are: SoundEdit™, a sound editing
- application; the MacRecorder digitizer, a hardware device that converts analog
- sound to digital sound; HyperSound™, a HyperCard stack for MacRecorder; and the
- HyperSound ToolKit, a collection of programming routines that
- allow users to create their own stacks that record and play sound. The
- MediaTracks Multimedia Pack CD-ROM version is shipping now and sells for $495
- (U.S. suggested retail).
